Sustainability lies at the heart of the Transform4Europe alliance. It’s one of our core values and a driving force behind building a community that truly respects and protects the environment. Drawing on best practices from 11 partner universities, we developed the Green Campus Strategy to strengthen our shared commitment to a sustainable future and to guide the long-term evolution of our campuses.
The Green Campus Strategy outlines a clear roadmap for universities striving to create environmentally responsible operations and infrastructure. Built around the Green Campus Certification (GCC) framework, it highlights practical, measurable actions in key impact areas such as energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, green procurement, waste reduction, and the use of renewable energy.
By adopting the GCC framework, universities gain a powerful tool for self-assessment, goal-setting, and continuous improvement. Its tiered certification system recognises progress at every step, motivating institutions to keep advancing their sustainability efforts. Through collaboration and the exchange of proven solutions, the Green Campus Strategy helps build a vibrant network of universities united in their mission to create greener, more resilient campuses.
