About
Are you a T4EU Week attendee en route to Poland for the first time? This brief article is to help you roam around the city of Katowice and make your stay as enjoyable as it gets.
Everything feels like home or a bit different depending on where you’re coming from.
- First and foremost, in Poland is in the Central European Summer Time zone [CEST]. It is the same as used in France, Italy or Germany.
- The official currency in Poland is PLN or Zloty, but you can pay using a credit or debit card in almost all places, and there are plenty of ATMs and currency exchange spots. At the time of writing this article, the exchange rate for €1 is PLN4.30. Some bigger stores, especially international chains accept Euro in cash, but you always receive change in Polish zlotych.
- Public transport is well-designed and widely available for affordable prices. You may purchase tickets in some vending machines or download the official city transport app (Transport GZM) pl
- Poland is a very safe and calm country, and you’ll be staying in a very post-industrial region with a young but rich history.
- In Poland, we use Type C & Type E power plugs, the same as in Germany, France and most of Europe.
REMEMBER:
As a T4EU Week attendee, you will participate in only one course of your choice. Your classes will occur partly on-site and partly online.
