Bio

Hi! I’m Natalia Contreras from the University of Alicante.
In October 2025, I had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the T4EU Chair Programme, spending five weeks at the University of Trieste.

It was such a rewarding experience. I was warmly welcomed by the Department of Law, Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies, where I had the chance to teach and share ideas on interculturality, translation, and language education.

But I also had another goal: I really wanted to connect with colleagues in Trieste working in a similar field to mine in Alicante, particularly in language and literature education for future primary school teachers.

And this is where the T4EU team in Trieste was incredibly helpful. They helped me find the right people and arrange a meeting that turned out to be the beginning of something very exciting.
From that first meeting, we started building a collaboration between our departments. Today, that collaboration is a reality, and one year later, we are coming back to Trieste for new teaching exchanges and joint research projects.

For me, this is exactly what T4EU is all about: meeting people, sharing ideas, creating connections, and opening the door to new opportunities.
So, if you’re thinking about taking part in the programme, I absolutely recommend it. It’s a wonderful way to broaden your horizons, both as a teacher and as a researcher.
