22 March 2024 | University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland

About

On the occasion of World Water Day, the team of the USil Silesian Water Centre, supported by the co-organisers and patrons, organised the International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘European Rivers – Problems and Challenges’.

The event took place on 22 March 2024 at the University of Silesia in Katowice within the framework of the European City of Science Katowice 2024, City-Region-Academia stream.

The conference was to respond to the increasing challenges related to global climate and socio-political changes. The participants included researchers from various national and international scientific units, and representatives of the socio-economic environment. Foreign centres were represented e.g. by the Transform4Europe Alliance partners: Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas (Lithuania) and the University of Trieste (Italy). An integral part of the conference was an international student poster session and a meeting with secondary school students.
