Application deadline for students: 22 November 2026

About

Join The Romance Forest, an innovative Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme hosted by Saarland University. This unique learning experience combines language learning with an immersive role-playing adventure, allowing participants to develop their French, Italian, or Spanish skills while collaborating in a multilingual storyline.

The programme includes two online preparatory sessions on 15 and 26 February 2027 and an on-site intensive week in Saarbrücken, Germany, from 8–12 March 2027. Participants will work in small groups, engage in role-play activities on campus and in the surrounding region, and earn 3 ECTS credits upon successful completion.

The programme is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students with a minimum B1 level in their chosen target language (French, Italian, or Spanish). Joint activities involving all participants will be conducted in English. Travel and accommodation costs are typically supported through Erasmus+ mobility funding provided by the student’s home institution.

Nomination Procedure

Each partner university may nominate up to five students for participation. Interested students should apply through their home university’s International Office. Nominations must be submitted by the home institution by the first week of December 2026 at leitung@szsb.uni-saarland.de. Final participant selection will be carried out by Saarland University, taking into account language levels and the overall balance of language groups.

Application deadline for students: 22 November 2026
Confirmation of participation: by 15 December 2026
