‘Traces of Memory in the City’ – Transform4Europe Regional Heritage Workshop
On 19 and 20 October, the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland) hosted ‘Traces of Memory in the City’ – Transform4Europe Regional Heritage Workshop
About
The University of Silesia in Katowice hosted students from Transform4Europe universities for the Transform4Europe Regional Heritage Workshop, a two-day photography workshop led by a professional photographer on October 19–20 in Katowice.
The workshop explored themes of identity and memory in the urban space of Upper Silesia. Participants discovered locations and stories connected to the region’s rich cultural heritage and history.
The program offered a well-rounded, hands-on experience, beginning with an introduction to photographic composition and practical advice on capturing compelling images even with basic equipment.
The second day was dedicated to creating an exhibition and a zine project based on selected photographs. The final results will be presented at the University of Silesia in Katowice during the conference “City-Memory-Art. Images of identity in urban space”.
