About
Chemistry – Related Sciences in the T4EU Alliance Matchmaking 2026
The event is structured around three presentation sessions covering university and faculty introductions, scientific research activities, and teaching programmes, complemented by a poster session.
22 September 2026 | Saarland University, Germany
Participants are encouraged to contribute talks and posters, with contributions from PhD and postdoctoral researchers particularly welcome. The goal is to identify shared interests, explore potential partnerships, and exchange knowledge across institutions. Representatives from T4EU and external organisations will also present available funding opportunities. The event is hosted by Saarland University, which will additionally offer campus visits during the programme.
Call for contributions – talks and posters:
As part of the event, we are offering the opportunity to give presentations on three different topics to get to know each other and identify common interests.
As part of the event, we are offering the opportunity to give presentations on three different topics to get to know each other and identify common interests.
We would like to point out, that also contributions from Postdocs, PhD students and graduate students are highly appreciated for the Matchmaking Event. However, funding for the event including travel cost and accommodation can only be provided for 2-3 participants. For further participation you have to take care of your own funding for travelling and accommodation.
We would therefore like to divide the program into three consecutive sessions (see below for details). When registering, please indicate who will be giving a presentation in which session and what the title is – an abstract is not required.
We will ensure that every university can be present with at least one presentation in each session, provided you wish to do so. In addition, there will be a poster session covering all the topics mentioned while placing a stronger focus on research. Here you will have the opportunity to present on any scientific research related topic from individual research projects (including those by PhD students) to summaries of the research activities of your research group, department or faculty. We hope to establish many fruitful discussions on all your activities. We highly encourage every university to present in each session.
In addition, representatives from T4EU and other organizations will provide information on potential funding opportunities
Presentation of the University and the respective faculty – 20 min
We would like to begin the event with a presentation by each university, in which the institution, the city, the campus and, finally, the respective Department of Chemistry are introduced, including all the key information about your home university.
Scientific Research – 15 min
In the second session, research topics can be discussed with the audience. This can involve presentations of research activities carried out at your faculty, department or research group giving a talk on a particular subject. It might also be of interest to mention whether you have access to specific analytical equipment or similar resources. For example, Saarland University will be presenting its key chemical core facilities through lectures and posters, and we cordially invite you to do the same.
Teaching activities – 20 min
Finally, one session will be devoted exclusively to teaching activities currently offered or planned at your institution, which might be of interest for the T4EU alliance. Let everybody know what options are available to students in terms of Master’s and Bachelor’s degree programs, which partnerships to other universities or external partners you have already established.
Session 1 – Talks

Session 2 – Talks
Selected scientific research topics: Presentation of topics from individual research groups / faculties’ research topics (PhD students) / ongoing programmes, special focus areas …
Session 3 – Talks
