The first time I heard about Transform4Europe was at the beginning of 2022, when the project was still quite young, and I immediately found it very interesting: from the very start, the idea of being able to attend courses remotely with other universities struck me as brilliant. I seized the opportunity right away and, in May 2022, I took part in the first T4EU Week held in Poland, at the University of Silesia in Katowice.
It was a completely new experience for me. Before then, I had never attended classes in another country. Moving from the classrooms of Trieste to those of Katowice was a breath of fresh air. I met new people from universities across many European countries—both students and lecturers—immersed myself in the local culture for seven days, and formed friendships that I still maintain today.
This first experience encouraged me to keep participating. After the week in Poland, I attended three remote courses from the comfort of my home. For me, this is the real strength of the project: being able to study and learn new things even without being physically together. Distant, yet close.
The Alliance does not completely replace your Degree programme, but rather enriches it, as you can substitute elective exams with those offered by the partner universities. One afternoon I would attend a class with the University of Sofia, the next with the University of Kaunas—it was truly stimulating.
