What we do

Transform4Europe – European University for Knowledge Entrepreneurs

We make knowledge move

At Transform4Europe (T4EU), our core identity is Transformation. We build the channels to make collaboration seamless. We make knowledge move. By stripping away traditional academic red tape, we help people connect, share, and create across 11 universities.

But movement requires momentum. That momentum comes from a knowledge-entrepreneurial mindset – the drive to turn ideas into impact. Here is the proof of how T4EU serves as a living role model for higher education in Europe.

Transforming higher education

For us, knowledge is the ultimate driver of change. Our core identity rests on two fundamental pillars:

Transformation

We break down traditional, siloed approaches to higher education, research, and administration. We build fluid structures where international collaboration becomes the default mode of operation.

Knowledge Entrepreneurialism

We foster a culture of proactivity, innovation, and active ownership. We empower students, doctoral candidates, and staff to turn bold ideas into high-impact projects for society and the economy.

Proof of Impact: Education, Sustainability and Collaboration

As a role model with global impact, T4EU transforms traditional university boundaries across three dimensions: education, sustainability, and collaboration.

Fostering an entrepreneurial mindset from day one

Traditional doctoral programmes often confine PhD students within the walls of a single institution. T4EU is building a new type of European university where working internationally is the default mode of operation.

  • PhD Tracks is an unique, replicable European model of doctoral education. It fosters a knowledge entrepreneurship mindset, encouraging candidates to step out of their comfort zones through two formats: INcoming and OUTgoing.
  • In the case of OUTgoing tracks, candidates actively seek and select co-supervisors across the entire alliance. To do this, they leverage the integrated T4EU ecosystem: Activity Hub, Networking Events, and new mobility formats.

Institutional synergy independent of temporary project cycles

While most university consortia operate strictly on a project-by-project basis, T4EU creates durable research support mechanisms designed for long-term sustainability.

  •  Joint Grant Office is a centralized hub offering highly specialized consulting support for joint grant applications (with a special emphasis on Horizon Europe) at zero cost to applicants.
The JGO is funded directly by the member universities, ensuring its structural stability long after the initial European Commission project funding ends.

  • Any research team featuring scientists from at least four T4EU universities receives expert mentoring, matchmaking, and proposal editing at every stage of their grant application process.

Driven by people, open to the world

The ‘Powered by T4EU’ Sub-brand is our signature quality and brand mark. Governed by a clear Standard Operating Procedure, this framework promotes:

  • new projects and initiatives born organically from the T4EU network,
  • activities coordinated by the Joint Grant Office (JGO),
  • initiatives arising from cooperation with Mariupol State University (MSU).

It ensures visual and communicative coherence for projects involving at least 2 partners (and fully supported with 4 or more).

For the JGO, this mark highlights a sustainable, member-funded ecosystem that provides free support for competitive joint grant applications.

For MSU, the sub-brand provides a platform to showcase their integration into our institutional framework and their active role in rebuilding Ukrainian higher education.
