8-12 June 2026 | Saarland University, Saarbrücken Germany

About

Saarland University will host an international and interdisciplinary Erasmus+ Staff Week titled “Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Research: Transforming Academic Practice” from 8–12 June 2026 at its Saarbrücken campus. The event focuses on artificial intelligence as a transformative force reshaping science, higher education, and society.

Participants will explore how universities advance AI research while rethinking teaching and learning through intelligent technologies. Building on Saarland University’s strengths in biomedicine, computer science, interdisciplinary European studies, and sustainability, the programme offers diverse academic perspectives. It will address recent technological developments, emerging challenges, and the ethical, social, and pedagogical implications of AI. The Staff Week aims to foster international, interdisciplinary dialogue and critical reflection on the opportunities and complexities of AI in academia.

Staff members from your institution are warmly invited to contribute to the programme by giving a presentation, or offering a workshop. Please submit your proposal no later than 20 May 2026 by e-mail to ekaterina.klueh@uni-saarland.de.

An excursion to Strasbourg, including a guided visit to the European Parliament, will provide participants with insights into European institutions and policymaking.
