Delegation from Vytautas Magnus University visits the University of Saarland

The University of the Saarland (UdS) recently hosted a high-level delegation from its partner institution, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Kaunas, Lithuania, to further strengthen their institutional cooperation within the European University Alliance Transform4Europe (T4EU).

The visit focused on exploring and deepening joint research collaborations, particularly in the fields of quantum sciences, energy, and computer science, where both universities offer complementary strengths. In addition, discussions addressed issues of digital university administration, including IT infrastructures and digital support systems for teaching, research, and administration.

A joint meeting of the two university leadership teams concluded with the signing of an agreement introducing a mobility window in sports sciences, creating a clear framework for curriculum‑embedded student exchanges. Overall, the visit highlighted the strong mutual commitment of UdS and VMU to further develop their cooperation in a strategic and sustainable manner and to make active use of the opportunities offered by the T4EU alliance.
