About

On Wednesday 3 December 2025, the University of Trieste will host the T4EU Culture Event “Sustainable Heritage Across the Shores of the Mediterranean” at the Sala Atti Arduino Agnelli, Androna Campo Marzio 10, Trieste.

The event brings together students and researchers from the Department of Humanities (DiSU) at UniTS and the Transform4Europe (T4EU) Alliance, together with a visiting delegation from the Université Cadi Ayyad de Marrakech (Morocco) and its Laboratoire des Études sur les Ressources, Mobilités et Attractivité (LERMA).

The seminar will explore tourism, cultural heritage, and mobility in the Mediterranean from the perspective of environmental and social sustainability, with a focus on how cultural and generational differences shape memory, access, and the appreciation of place.

Opening remarks will be delivered by Professor Elisabetta De Giorgi, Rector’s Delegate for Mobility and International Relations. The session will be chaired by Professor Roberta Altin, anthropologist and Delegate for Development Cooperation.

Speakers include Professor Said Boujrouf, Professor Mohammed El Aklaa, and Professor Fatima Gebrati from LERMA, alongside UniTS academics Professor Tullia Catalan, Professor Dragan Umek, and Professor Cristiana Baldazzi. Contributions will also come from Professor Federico Salvaggio, Professor Elie Kallas, Professor Roberto Dapit (University of Udine), and the Museum of the Bora.

The event, open to the public, aims to foster dialogue across cultures and disciplines, reflecting on the role of cultural heritage in promoting sustainability and exchange throughout the Mediterranean.
