Description

The Roman Villa of l’Albir Open Air Museum, situated near Albir Beach in l’Alfàs del Pi, Alicante, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing a late Roman rural villa dating from the 4th to 7th centuries AD. The museum’s mission is to educate the public about Roman domestic life through accessible exhibits, including thermal baths, a mausoleum, and interactive technologies like augmented reality and a 360 degrees short film showing a virtual reconstruction hypothesis of the Villa. Its goals encompass heritage conservation, public engagement, and the integration of digital tools in cultural dissemination. As a stakeholder in the T4EU WP7 project, the museum offers a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, providing opportunities for students and researchers to engage in digital heritage initiatives, archaeological research, and the development of immersive educational experiences.
