Vertical Mobility
Advance smoothly in your academic journey while moving across partner universities
About
T4EU Vertical Mobility is all about creating clear, structured pathways that allow students to progress from one level of higher education to the next — for example, from a Bachelor’s degree to a Master’s degree — while moving between different partner universities. By aligning consecutive study programmes across the network, the Alliance makes it possible for students to advance in their academic careers without any unnecessary and daunting administrative barriers, so that they can focus on benefitting from the combined strengths, specialisations, and resources of all partner institutions.
The initiative’s overarching goal is to ensure seamless progression within the same field of study. The approach encourages academic flexibility, strengthens collaboration among universities, and fosters innovation in programme design. It aims to promote diversity and inclusivity, while avoiding the risk of losing talent to institutions outside the Alliance.

Vertical Mobility is not merely a practical tool for students, it is a strategic step toward a more connected, competitive, and innovative European Higher Education space.
The T4EU Alliance is working to develop recognition schemes for qualifications and credits, as well as to establish formal agreements between its members. A dedicated Vertical Mobility Agreement Template has been developed and is available for all T4EU partner institutions. These steps create the conditions for automatic progression from one programme to another and ensure that students can move forward in their studies without facing bureaucratic hurdles. The initiative also seeks to connect compatible programmes in a way that promotes complementarity rather than duplication, strengthening the overall academic fabric of the Alliance.
