About
From 9 to 12 September 2025, Transform4Europe will be present at the annual conference and exhibition organised by the European Association for International Education (EAIE). This is one of the most significant events in European higher education, and this year it will be held in Gothenburg.
The organisers have prepared a special space for European university alliances, where T4EU representatives will present the consortium’s achievements, including the joint educational offer and flagship events of the Alliance, and will strengthen inter-institutional cooperation, which will increase visibility and contribute to the discussion on the future of European universities.
Transform4Europe will be represented by:
- Sven Idarand, Secretary General (Estonian Academy of Arts),
members of the T4EU Steering Committee
- Małgorzata Myśliwiec, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. (University of Silesia in Katowice),
- Ales Oven (University of Primorska),

First-hand insights
EAIE conferences are always a big melting pot of international cooperation; it’s a place to meet old friends and colleagues as well as a perfect spot to expand your professional network. For T4EU, EAIE 2025 is a an opportunity to explore new global partnerships and learn from others about different innovative models of collaboration, student engagement, global partnerships, and knowledge transfer. This year is very important for T4EU as we have the privilege of cooperating with other alliances besides the European Commission. I am delighted that we can collaborate with the EUNICE alliance for the booths. Cooperation really sparks synergies, so I am very excited to see what will happen at the conference!
I would like to use this opportunity to convey our key message that Transform4Europe is not just a project but a fully evolving European University, anchored in the idea of Knowledge Entrepreneurship. We would like to emphasize our expertise in driving regional development and institutional transformation that we have already achieved. EAIE is the ideal platform to share this vision, as it gathers the international education community that is shaping the future of higher education policy and practice around the world.
T4EU brings a unique perspective on how European Universities can balance academic excellence with societal responsibility by connecting universities, regions, and stakeholders across Europe – this is what we internally call Knowledge Entrepreneurialism. We are seeking to build stronger partnerships with global institutions, higher education networks, and, of course, get to know and learn from other alliances (European Universities and others). We hope to meet with a range of stakeholders who share our ambition of fostering innovative, entrepreneurial, and socially engaged universities.
We believe that participating in such events as EAIE 2025 will help us strengthen our global visibility and broaden our network of strategic partners. I am sure that the insights we learn, the connections we foster in Gothenburg, will provide us a long-lasting boost to our efforts to develop our own version of a European University, and I am certain that it will help us to grow as a sustainable alliance beyond the project framework.

Sven Idarand
T4EU Secretary General
At EAIE 2025, I will be focusing on strengthening our existing partnerships and establishing new ones, expanding my network, and attending all sessions with a focus on European University Alliances – especially those on motivation, student recruitment, and shared student identity, which I find to be particularly relevant to my daily work.
Our European University Alliance, T4EU, demonstrates successful collaboration at all levels, leading to substantial intra-institutional changes. We can be really proud of what we have achieved thus far! As EAIE hosts guests from all over the world, it is the perfect place to highlight the benefits of these alliances. T4EU can be really proud of our amazing Professional Development Programme, our Joint Digital Course Catalogue and our successful mobility programmes, all of which are designed to have a lasting impact on participants. The T4EU ‘identity’ is constantly growing, and we will be happy to share our success stories.
Of course, we would love to strengthen our relationships not only with other European University Alliances but also with everyone interested! I believe that it is above all through networking and exchange of experiences that we can learn from each other, so I also think T4EU can learn a lot from the other European University Alliances present at EAIE, especially when it comes to joint study programmes, student identity, and student involvement.

Lukas Redemann
Coordinator of the T4EU at Saarland University
Being present at EAIE2025 means continuing to contribute to the strengthening of European higher education. It means establishing sustainable links with academic and non-academic partners on a global scale, starting from Europe and its university institutions.
It means serving the community and communities by promoting knowledge, academic freedom and societal transformation that guarantees a promising future with positive and constructive opportunities.

Member of the Steering Committee
My main motivation to attend EAIE 2025 is to meet with colleagues, strengthen relationships, and potentially forge new partnerships. Networking and information sharing among peers is the main motivator for me. Besides the networking, I plan to attend a few lectures, mostly on topics of future developments, strategic orientations, and student engagement.
T4EU (and UP) are fun, vibrant and progressive institutions, which create fantastic opportunities for students and staff, and we would like to share this enthusiasm with our partners and friends. Our strength lies in our capacity to build a strong sense of community and interconnectedness between our students and staff. Only together can we achieve our common goals.
I believe that others can learn a lot from us on how we are building our community and engagement efforts, as well as the progress we’ve made regarding the online educational tools (mostly the Metacampus and Connect4Research). We are also proud of the regional character of our universities and the extra engagement that results from it.
We hope that new ideas, new colleagues, new alliances with the European Commission and other partners, greater visibility and even better connections will be the lasting impacts of EAIE that we can look forward to.
