About
Małgorzata Poks, PhD, DLitt, delivered lectures on Decolonising Climate Change and Management, providing an important interdisciplinary approach to sustainability issues. She met students and colleagues from the Faculty of Geology and Geography and the Faculty of Philosophy. Plans to join the T-Lab on Climate Change and design specific joint activities were discussed.
Her teaching activities at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski will continue with online lectures for students from the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philologies on the connections between climate change, geopolitics and biosemiotics.
Dr Martina Paradiz delivered a series of lectures for academic staff and students at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. The sessions designed for academics, researchers and PhD students addressed practical applications of AI tools in conducting literature reviews, data analysis, and interpretation of research results. The sessions designed for MA and BA students demonstrated the application of AI in learning languages, alongside a thorough examination of academic integrity, strategies for avoiding plagiarism and respecting copyright in the digital age.
Both T4EU Chairs took part in the Global Challenges and the Value of Universities roundtable organised by the European Values and Social Challenges research group within the SUMMIT project. Dr. Poks talked about the importance of sustainable development and climate change education to the universities of the future. Dr Paradiz presented the results of a student-led virtual exchange program designed to foster the development of students’ intercultural competence and effective communication skills in international settings through autonomous learning and peer interaction.
They participated in the The European Union in a Dynamic Global Context international conference organised by the European Studies Department where Dr. Paradiz delivered a presentation about her research on epistemic bias detection in AI generated texts as well as a presentation on how international student virtual exchanges align with the EEA goals and EU’s vision for a more connected and inclusive higher education space.
