About

As part of the Transform4Europe initiative, the University of Alicante is organizing a new Science Café that will explore how Augmented Reality (AR) is revolutionizing the way we preserve and present cultural heritage. This hybrid event, titled “Through the AR Lens: How Augmented Reality is Transforming the Way We Experience Cultural Heritage,” will take place on November 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (CET – Central European Time).

Explore how augmented reality (AR) transforms our connection to cultural heritage through the Remembering the City project. By integrating AR with Venice’s Stumbling Stones and Trieste’s Jewish Cemetery, this initiative brings history to life through digital storytelling, effectively linking physical spaces with immersive narratives. Designed to engage and educate, AR experiences bridge the past and present, fostering public awareness and deeper historical connections. This talk will delve into the project’s innovations, challenges, and ethical considerations, highlighting AR’s potential to revolutionize heritage preservation and remembrance.
