Highlights:
- The project builds on Yuk Hui’s reinterpretation of cybernetic thinking in the context of contemporary computing technologies and his call for a “post-European philosophy” or “planetary thinking.”
- The aim of the PhD dissertation is to describe the internal trajectory and evolution of Chinese cybernetic thought and its practical applications.
- A key aspect of the project will be to further develop Hui’s question concerning technology in China and to explore theoretical works by Chinese philosophers of technology, such as Chen Changshu (the founder of Chinese philosophy of technology in the 20th century), Yu Guangyuan, Jin Guantao (associated with the Dialectics of Nature), among others.
