2 February 2026 | Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Portugal
About
Recognising that mental health is a vital factor for human development, academic success, and the production of high-quality research, this initiative places care for the individual at the centre of the doctoral experience.
The first session of this workshop cycle will take place on 2 February 2026 at 6 p.m., with the topic ‘Start Smart: Beginning the PhD Journey’.
Grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) the cycle provides a safe, experiential, and supportive space where students can develop practical strategies to manage stress, navigate academic demands, clarify personal and academic values, strengthen self-regulation, and build meaningful peer connections.
Across six online sessions, participants will:
- Learn evidence based techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and academic pressure.
- Clarify and align their personal and academic values.
- Develop time management and organizational strategies driven by meaningful priorities.
- Strengthen self care routines to cultivate long term well being.
- Build a supportive, collaborative community across different PhD cohorts.
- Develop commitments and action plans for their future goals.
