Around Writing Series | Science Communication Workshop by UCP

The Católica Doctoral School (CADOS) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in collaboration with the Transform4Europe Alliance (T4EU) organises the “Around Writing Series”, a trilogy of interactive Science Communication workshops designed to help PhD students enhance their academic writing through creativity, collaboration, and reflection.

More than a training course, the “Around Writing Series” is a laboratory of ideas where participants co-create knowledge, experiment with writing tools, and connect with peers across Europe. The initiative aims to boost both the technical and human dimensions of academic writing, encouraging critical thought, purpose, and joy in the process.
Open to all doctoral candidates across the T4EU network, the series provides a vibrant space to explore the art and practice of writing from multiple perspectives — feedback, structure, and artificial intelligence. Each session combines scholarly discussion with hands-on experimentation, empowering participants to develop effective strategies, tools, and habits for productive academic writing.
Integrated in the recently launched Transform4Europe’s Early Researchers Academy and part of the Erasmus+ European Universities advanced training actions, this immersive course combines theory and practice.

It “aims to empower participants to effectively convey scientific concepts and research findings to diverse audiences such as policymakers, industry stakeholders, and the general public”, as explained by Isabel Lopes Cardoso, Project Manager at Católica.
Although designed for PhD students, this training is also open to any students from other cycles of study, staff, professors and researchers from any member university of the Transform4Europe Alliance that would like to join.
