‘Strengthening Higher Education with European Alliances’ is the tenth episode of the Reach Out podcast from the Transform4Europe (T4EU) alliance. The episode explores how European University Alliances contribute to strengthening higher education at the local level, based on the experience of Université Jean Monnet (UJM) as a member of T4EU.
The conversation features Emmanuelle Rimbot, professor at the Faculty of Arts, Literature, and Languages at UJM, and Chantal Barone, professor in the Applied Foreign Languages Department and responsible for outgoing student mobility. The conversation is moderated by Souheila Gassiot, Project Manager at Transform4Europe.
Following the central question ‘What can a European University alliance bring to a university at a local level?’, the guests share concrete examples of how T4EU supports the creation of joint programmes, multilingual curricula and innovative pedagogical projects, promoting closer collaboration between European institutions.
The benefits of increased student and staff mobility are also highlighted, as well as practical support for the development of strong international partnerships.
In particular, ‘templates guidance and people who are always available when you need. That kind of support is priceless and really makes a difference in international collaborations. And then what helped a lot were the opportunities to actually meet people in person. And thanks to opportunities like the matchmaking events, I could identify the right universities to work with’, says Chantal Barone.
