The Europa-Institut will be offering its third Global Classroom lecture with the topic “AI & Human Rights”. The lecture will be held online!

The concept of the Global Classroom is to bring together students and professors from Europe and other countries to teach and research in an international environment. The aim is to use the potential of digitalization for internationalization and hereby to enable joint scientific, “trans-European” work and to bring students from different regions of the world together to share their knowledge.

The lecture will be held as an open-to-all course for students of the LL.M. program “European and International Law” of the Europa-Institut within the framework of specialization area 5 (Human Rights). The event is also aimed at students from our international partner universities and, in particular, universities from the European university alliance Transform4Europe.

The planned thematic blocks of the Global Classroom are:

– Introduction into AI and Human Rights – General Overview
– Automated Decision-Making, Discrimination of Algorithms (with a view to migration flow)
– The AI-Act and Human Rights
– How to protect privacy in a datafied society?
– Autonomous weapons systems in armed conflicts
– AI challenges in the field of intellectual property law

An examination is planned at the end of the course. The course is recognized with 1.5 credit points. Furthermore a “Certificate of Participation” will be issued.
