HERITAGE AT WORK – BETWEEN THE LOCAL AND THE EUROPEAN
21-25 October | Katowice and Cieszyn, Poland
About
The University of Silesia is organising a regional workshop HERITAGE AT WORK – BETWEEN THE LOCAL AND THE EUROPEAN in the framework of Transform4Europe, which is addressed to MA and PhD students.
The course will consist of virtual and onsite classes, the aim of which will be to introduce the participants to cultural heritage and make a joint reflection on its geographical dimensions – local, regional, national and European – and their interrelation as well as its management in contemporary Europe.
The organisers have planned three online lectures and four meetings in June and October, to develop the tools and elaborate the results of the survey.
Onsite classes will be conducted on 21 -25 October in Katowice and Cieszyn, with part of the onsite programme incorporated in the Cultural Heritage Conference on 22 -23 October in Katowice and Cieszyn.
In order to complete the course and receive 5 ECTS, the participants will have to complete two tasks working in small teams – a survey on the common European heritage among their fellow students and a problem-solving exercise using the design thinking method during their stay in Cieszyn.
