This course, aimed for a very broad audience, discusses different civilizational processes in the world history from the oldest times until now, assessing their importance to the world of today. After the defining the term “civilization” and explaining its problematics, different aspects of human history are discussed – relationship between people and nature, development of different technologies, emergence and development of different means of communication, and interaction of science and religion. The appearance of art, architecture and literature is also discussed. Great attention is paid to the development of different political systems and social changes.
