The honourable title of the Ambassador of Mariupol State University

The University of Silesia in Katowice extended aid to Mariupol State University (which was possible thanks to the NAWA programme ‘In Solidarity with Ukraine’).

Mariupol State University is an associated partner in the Transform4Europe European University alliance. The aid provided to the Ukrainian university met with great gratitude.

By the decision of the Scientific Council of Mariupol State University, the University of Silesia in Katowice received the honorary title of Ambassador. The same title was awarded to Prof. Tomasz Pietrzykowski, Vice-Rector for International and Domestic Cooperation and Małgorzata Myśliwiec, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof., Coordinator for the Transform4Europe European University.

Prof. Mykola Trofymenko, Rector of Mariupol State University, who visited Katowice for the inauguration of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 celebrations, presented the distinctions.
