About
This workshop explores the significance of writing systems in heritage and identity formation.
Through a series of on-site visits to GLAM Stakeholders’ premises, lectures and talks participants will gain understanding of the Glagolitic tradition and role of the Glagolitic script as a shared platform for the peoples of Central and Southern Europe. Participants will learn about its history and artistic interpretations.
Then they will be divided into two strands for further hands-on exploration of the general theme of Letters, Heritage, Idenities. Students and young researchers from visual arts and graphic design faculties of the T4EU Alliance will carry on their work in an artistic workshop to create original posters inspired by the design and symbolism of the Glagolitic alphabet The second strand will engage undergraduate, graduate students and young researchers of arts, history, languages, media and culture in exploring the presence of the Glagolitic script on modern-day Sofia.
The Workshop aims to foster artistic expression while connecting cultural heritage with modern-day city scape.
The workshop will culminate in an exhibition of the results of the two strands of the regional workshop and Stakeholder Challenge award in the Alma Mater Gallery (15 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd, North Wing, Floor 1).
