Description

This course emphasizes the specifics of urbanization in the Balkans with a focus on the Bulgarian lands. At the end of the 19th century, urbanization also became a symbol of Europeanization. The paths to modern urban development also show the path to the modernization of Balkan societies.

Deepening the skills of doctoral students in studying the problems of urban culture in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Delving into regional variants of urban culture using the methods of ethnology and history. The goal is also to form skills for analyzing processes and critically handling sources.
