4th Science Café: Universities and Heritage
29 January 2025 | Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria
About
The next Science Café will take place at the Rectorate building of Sofia University on 29 January 2025, 2.00-3.00 p.m., as part of the larger events dedicated to heritage – a Quadruple event organised by Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (28-30 January 2025). The entire event will feature the following: Letters, Heritage, Identities (Roundtable and Matchmaking Event), Obscure Treasures (Stakeholder Challenge) and The Glagolitic alphabet – the Forgotten Alphabet of Europe (Workshop for students and young researchers)
The conceptual design of the Science Café Session ‘Universities and Heritage’, as part of the T4EU initiatives, is to promote science beyond the university boundaries, exchange knowledge and maintain a culture of dialogue. Its goal is to present to the GLAM stakeholders and the wider public in the region diverse research areas and modern technologies in an attractive manner and engage a wide audience with important social issues like sustainable heritage.
In order to achieve these goals, the SU Team is organizing a discussion around the significance of preserving and sharing cultural heritage by employing modern technologies and digitalization. We are driven by the need to foster a broader understanding of the importance of this process and respond to the newest challenges we face as a society nowadays. We are inspired by the theme of the tangible and intangible impact these processes have on people’s lives.
