About

The T4EU Science Café is an engaging event designed to highlight the importance of research in shaping public and corporate policies. This initiative showcases the diverse research areas covered by Transform4Europe.

For this first Science Café, we are honoured to host Prof. Christian Solte-Gresser, Director of the Käte Hamburger Research Centre for Cultural Practices of Reparation (CURE) at Saarland University, and Prof. Isabel Capeloa Gil, Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Full Professor of Culture Studies. Together, they will explore the thought-provoking question, ‘Can War be Repaired (by Culture)?’

This event is part of the 1st T4EU Summer School, focusing on the theme ‘Culture at War.’ The T4EU Science Café will be held on 25 June at 2.30 p.m. (WEST) in Auditorium 3 of the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. It will also be broadcast online on the T4EU YouTube channel.

The Science Café aims to bridge the gap between academia and the broader community, fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration in support of evidence-based decision-making and societal progress.

This is an opportunity to engage with leading researchers and contribute to a meaningful conversation on the role of culture in addressing and potentially remediating the impacts of war.
